Monster pot registered at 4.30AM at the pokerpit:
The local pokerscene was shocked by the latest clash between two very aggresive players.
During the entire evening, various big pots were fought over by these two, only to reach
a climax in this hand...
Player A (hero) recieves 7-6o and decides to raise a little to prepare for a possible bluff on the flop.
Player B (villain) gets 8-4s and calls in hope of catching a big hand. The other players fold.
The flop comes, 7-6-5 rainbow. Hero bets 1€20, Villain raise another 1€20. Then when our hero announces he will raise again, villain explodes and yells all-in, before our hero was able to say the amount he wanted to raise. He puts in the minimum required (1€20) and goes into the tank to think.
The image of the villain was tight and very aggrive but this was clearly a overbet.
The pot contained only about 4€ before the allin and the all-in was 80€+.
Hero had about +/- 40€ left to call with.
Now there is no doubt about the hand of villain: he has the straight: probably 9-8 maybe 8-4, unlikely 4-3 since he went all-in.
Even 8-4 would be debatable for a all-in, since hero announced a reraise just before the all-in...
Thinking further, hero knows that with two cards to come he has a couple of outs to catch a card. He would have the best hand if he did. The amount in the pot makes this deal a lot more tastier than a simple pot-sized bet. And because villain went all-in, there are only two options, call or fold. At this point hero decides that he rather gamble for such a big pot then leave and never
know...
He calls much to the surprise of villain who never expected hero to call.
Villain flips over 8-4 of club for a flopped straight.
Turn comes and delivers a 7. Hero has hit his full house and villain is drawing dead to the river.

Villain en hero gebruiken. Leert toch ook een keer toegeven dat het ten eerste niet een slechte move was van de villain maar een wreed domme risicovolle call van de hero zeker om 40 euro te riskeren voor een pot van 4 euro met niet de beste kaarten in je hand. En ten tweede dat het echt wel zwijne chance is dat je de full gemaakt hebt. De kans dat met een staight draw zit en dat je hem krijgt is nog groter dan dat je de full maakt. En idd ik ben nog altijd pissed omdat je dat niet wilt toegeven en er nog altijd van overtuigd bent dat de villain in de fout ben gegaan.

Ik heb vooraf gezegd dat ik het wou gokken. Ik wist perfect dat jij groot geflopt had, maar ja...

In verband met het commentaar dat ik geef op je spel.
Ten eerste is zeker de helft ervan nog juist ook.
Ten tweede werkt het zo goed dat ik het beschouw als een geldige tactiek om je een paar keer uit je kot te lokken.

Laat ons eens eerlijk zijn. Wat de villain kan verweten worden is dat hij geen 89 had.
In dat geval is een all-in move warranted als je met roekeloze callers zit. Hero geeft zelf toe dat hij wist dat de villain straight had. Quite a gamble with a 24% chance of succes.
